    Scottish bank notes are technically not legal tender anywhere including Scotland, so obviously does not have to be accepted in England. Legal tender in Scotland is the payment in £1 and £2 coins up to any amount, 20p and 50p pieces up to £10, 5p and 10p up to £5, and 1p and 2p up to 20p.
    In Scotland English notes are not legal tender either, only in England and Wales, therefore do not have to be accepted.
    It is at the discretion of the individual to accept money that is not legal tender.
