What are specific laws that govern parental responsibility for damages from crimes by their children?

Are there federal laws?

State, or both?

Don’t worry about what kind of damages–I’m deliberately casting a wide net, here. I want as many laws that support the *theory* of parental responsibility resulting from crimes committed by their children, as possible.

Thanks!

Laws provide that any damage made by minor children can be claimed against the parents.

For child support enforcement otherwise it varies by the state and severity of the state and severity of the state and severity of the state and severity of the crime committed.
