Remember the fastest street car contest put on at the Street Machine Nationals? All cars were inspected, they had to pass all DOT reg’s for the year of the car.
It all started on a street course through towns, on highways, through cities, obeying all road laws for 75+ miles, then back to the drag strip.
When back at the strip they had 5min to check and top off fliuds only! Then hands off your car until drag time.This should be the only way to officially obtain “fastest street legal car”

Okay everyone. When it is said that a car is the fastest street car, it is determined by 1/4 mile time. In this case Red Vector 1 is no longer the fastest street car in the world. The title goes to Rob Aboury, his twin turbo small block Corvette went 6.95 at 210mph. This was after a 700 mile cruise, the Bugatti Veron, sadly does the 1/4 mile in 10.2 at 142 mph. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!
